Letter: Cricket near Hollister?

Each week in the Free Lance, we read about various sporting events but we Anglophiles sometimes miss a taste of British sports. Eureka! Right in or own back yard, cricket in Gilroy!
Each summer, Kirigin Cellars Winery holds cricket matches in July and August. Take a chair, picnic, shade umbrella and enthusiasm, and enjoy the beautiful scenery and a relaxing afternoon, free of charge. You can also visit the tasting room and enjoy six free tasting sips and purchase a bottle if you wish.
The next match is Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. into the afternoon. Contact Kirigin Cellars ahead of time in case of date changes at (408) 847-8827. If you miss them this year, check them out next year for the dates and enjoy. P.S. You can still go to the beautiful winery, explore their venue, taste some wine and plan for next year!
