Dear Editor,
Marty Richman says that we get what we pay for but the problem is that we don’t get what we pay for! We buy health insurance but do not get health care. We already pay high premiums and co-pays, which exclude pre-existing conditions and many illnesses. The simple truth is that we pay for Health Insurance but do not get health care.
The facts tell us that the health insurance industry removes one-third of health care dollars to pay for administration and profits. For that reason alone we support removing the insurance industry from the health care picture and those dollars saved will provide us with real health care for which we already pay.
You see now a big difference between Health Insurance and Health Care. We support Medicare for everyone. This plan is also called “Single Payer Health Care for All.” We say, “Everyone in, no one out.”
