Lillian L. Scornaienchi passed away at William
&
amp; Inez Mabie Skilled Nursing Center in Hollister on March 16
at the age of 83 years. A native of Volta, California, Mrs.
Scornaienchi was a graduate of San Benito High School and a
business woman most of her life.
Lillian L. Scornaienchi passed away at William & Inez Mabie Skilled Nursing Center in Hollister on March 16 at the age of 83 years. A native of Volta, California, Mrs. Scornaienchi was a graduate of San Benito High School and a business woman most of her life. Her professional career included owning and operating an Orange Julius franchise as well as the Salami Factory Deli in Santa Rosa and the Healdsburg Hotel in Healdsburg. During the period of 1946 until 1970 Lillian was employed as a Floor Lady at Spiegles Food in Salinas. Upon her return to Hollister, Lillian enjoyed her membership in and the activities of the Italian Catholic Federation, the Catholic Daughters and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tres Pinos. When she was able, gardening and traveling were two of her favorite activities.
Lillian is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ed Scornaienchi of Hollister; her children and their spouses Toni Cantrell and husband Frank of Salinas, Diane Balesteri and husband Manuel of Monterey, Peter Scornaienchi and Mary Ross of Salinas; her grandchildren Stacy Carnazzo (husband Jeff) of Salinas, Dr. Steven Cantrell (wife Michelle) of Visalia, Jennifer Balesteri of Carmel Valley; and four great grandchildren. She was mother of the late Kimberley Gosselin and grandmother of the late Aaron Balesteri.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Mass of the Resurrection on Tuesday March 22 at 11am at Immaculate Conception Church 7290 Airline Highway in Tres Pinos.
As per her wishes, arrangements have been made for private cremation through Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory 870 San Benito St. in Hollister with inurnment at St. Benedict’s Columbarium in Hollister.
Memorials are preferred to the Diabetes Association or American Heart Association c/o the mortuary chapel.
