Local Bornia Boys band could advance to Memphis in contest

The Bornia Boys blues band won first place in a field of three bands at The Golden Gate Blues Society International Blues Challenge on Sunday at McGovern’s in San Mateo.
The Bornia Boys will now advance to Biscuits and Blues in San Francisco on Sept. 29 to compete with three other bands at The International Blues Regional Final IBC. 
The winner will represent The Golden Gate Blues Society at The Blues Foundation’s International Blues Challenge in Memphis from Jan. 21 to Jan. 24.
