Hollister – A Hollister man was arraigned on charges of possessing marijuana for sale and cultivating marijuana at the San Benito County Superior Court Thursday.

Johnathan Sander, 26, pleaded not guilty to the two charges, according to Sylvia Arciniega, the criminal supervising court clerk.

Salinas-based attorney Richard Rosen is representing Sander. He could not be reached for comment.

A preliminary hearing has been set for Sept. 28 at 1:30pm, Arciniega said.

Sander was arrested and booked into the San Benito County Jail on May 21 for four felony charges: possession of marijuana, transport and sale of marijuana, cultivating marijuana and being armed when arrested.

He was only charged with two of the crimes he was arrested for.

Sander had been arrested six times previously, all felonies, dating back to 1996, according to jail personnel.

Three of the arrests were drug related, according to jail personnel.
