The San Benito Aquatics and Rovella’s swim teams competed in the
End of Summer Swim Meet hosted by the the Monterey Bay Swim Club
last weekend at Hartnell College.
Salinas – The San Benito Aquatics and Rovella’s swim teams competed in the End of Summer Swim Meet hosted by the the Monterey Bay Swim Club last weekend at Hartnell College.

Twelve San Benito Aquatics swimmers competed in this meet and collectively improved their times by 68 percent.

Ashley Anthony, 8, received a new ‘B’ time in the 25 back with a mark of 30.55 and a personal best in the 100 free (2:23.66). Kaitllyn Corlett, 8, placed eighth in the Gold Division in the 25 back with a new ‘A’ time of 22.18. She also received a new ‘A’ time in the 25 free (19.48) and a new ‘B’ time in the 100 free (1:50.34).

Alyssa Ego, 14, swam a personal best in the 50 free (32.12). Forest Ego, 6, had an outstanding swim meet, achieving personal best times in 5 out 7 events. Ego also placed high in the Gold Division, placed first in the 25 back (24.72) and second in the 25 free (20.60).

Older sister Hillary Ego, 13, improved in five of her eight swims, including two new ‘A’ times in the 200 breast (3:15.27) and the 200 back (2:39.67). Stephanie Ego, 9, swam a personal best in the 50 breast with a time of 49.73.

Kelsey Larson, 12, placed fourth in the Silver Division in the 100 free with a personal best time of 1:12.20. Lacey Larson, 13, received a new ‘A’ time in the 200 free (2:22.91) and a personal best in the 200 back (2:56.09).

Caitlin Schafer, 8, had a fantastic meet, improving in all of her events. She had two new ‘A’ times in the 25 fly (19.68) and the 25 free (18.54). She placed first in the 25 breast (21.76), fifth in the 50 breast (49.39) and sixth in the 25 back (21.68) all in the Gold Division.

Jordan Schafer, 13, improved in all of his events as well, including a new ‘B’ time in the 50 free (33.54). Joshua Schafer, 10, swam personal best times in four events including a new ‘A’ time and a second place finish in the Silver Division in the 100 breast (1:39.92).

Rovella’s athletic club also had strong times in the meet.

Connor Dobbs set four new ‘A’ times. Madison Fort, Sean Hanagan and Laila Stelling also had two new ‘A’ swim times. Celina Stotler has one new ‘A’ time.

George Esquivel, Amanda and Rachel Estep, Sebastian Forbush, Madi Hayford, Czsarina Isleta and Jordan Leier set new ‘B’ swim times for Rovela’s as well.
