came to Hollister when she was 14 years old.

She graduated from local schools and worked at the State Theater as a teenager. She also worked in her father and mother’s restaurant – Bishop Cafe in 1947. Then and there Lucille met her husband to be, Bill Blacklock, and they married July 30, 1947 in Reno, Nev. She helped her husband on both of the ranches and at the same time working a regular shift at California Prune and Apricot Assn. She worked on the ranches with her husband until they retired in 1990.

She is survived by her husband, William C. Blacklock of Hollister; her daughter and son-in-law Diana and John Tilley of Coalinga; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Laura Blacklock of Hollister; grandchildren Michael Tilley and Jennifer Courtney of Coalinga, and Sarah and Rebecca Blacklock of Hollister. She is also survived by her great grandsons Cameron Courtney, Justin Courtney and Trevor Courtney; brother John Hoagland of San Jose; sister Barbara Griffin of Gilroy; sisters-in-law Lucy Hoagland of Hollister and Loraine Johnson of Santa Clara; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Louise and John Hoagland; sister Maxine Ferraro; brother Billy Joe Hoagland; sister-in-law Vivian Hoagland; and nephew David Ferraro.

Lucille loved to vacation in Yosemite in the summertime with her family. Later she enjoyed going to Lake Tahoe, Carson City and Virginia City in the summertime and going around the lake to Crystal Bay.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004 at 2pm at the IOOF Cemetery in Hollister. Rev. John Amelio of Glad Tidings Church will officiate.

Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Donations are preferred to Alzheimer’s Disease Association c/o the funeral home.
