Luella M. Sawyer, 82. passed away Thur, Aug. 12 at North Bay Hospital from complications of pneumonia. She was surrounded by her family. Luella was born Apr. 20, 1928 in San Pedro, CA to John and Anna (Huff) Guidinger, the youngest of five children. She grew up in Hollister and entered the military as a WAF. She married David Sawyer in July of 1951 and had five children. As the wife of an Air Force NCO she traveled abroad to England, Morocco, Germany and many other states and finally settled in Fairfield, CA.

A devoted wife and loving Mother, she raised their five children on her own, after the death of her husband in 1967. Luella enjoyed gardening, music, antiques and road trips to Calistoga for their mineral spas. She is survived by her five children: Mark Sawyer, Alan Sawyer, Tracy Sorbet and Karen Rhoads of Fairfield and Debra Elliott of Douglas City, CA; a sister: Marcella Maxson, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Per Luella’s request, there will be no funeral service held. Burial will be private at Glenn Oaks Memorial Park in Chico, CA.
