lengthy illness. She was 88.

Lupe Gonzalez died at her Hollister home Oct. 16, after a lengthy illness. She was 88.

She was born in Durango, Mexico and had been a Hollister resident for over 70 years.

She is survived by her children, Raul Gonzalez, Lydia and her husband Amos Rubio, Eva and her husband John Sanchez, Mary Helen and her husband Richard Subia, Elizabeth Armendariz, Grace Gonzalez, Hope and her husband Alvin Larios all of Hollister, Josie and husband Ali Geray of San Jose and Esther and her husband Fred Subia of Morgan Hill. She is the grandmother of 28, great-grandmother of 60 and great-great-grandmother of nine. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Gonzalez. 

Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 20, at 1:00 p.m. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home in Hollister. Burial will follow at the IOOF Cemetery in Hollister. 

Donations may be sent to the VNA Hospice of San Benito County.
