Lupe Landin Savalza born July 4, 1922 in Ventura County, she was raised in the beautiful agricultural communities of Oxnard and Santa Barbara. She moved with her father Reyes and mother Maria first to Salinas and then to San Jose in the mid 1940’s. It was there that she met her lifes partner, Daniel Savalza, and they married in 1950.
Lupe raised her family and supported the family businesses which included the highly successful market “La Costeha” on Middlefield Road in Mountain View.
Lupe is survived by Daniel, her husband, her children Abel Espinoza, Luis Espinoza, Yolanda Escobar, Henry Savalza and Emily Martinez. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 4th St., Gilroy, CA. Funeral will be Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 11 1st St., Gilroy, CA followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilroy, CA.
