LUPE SANCHEZ, 90, of Gilroy passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Santa Teresa Hospital, San Jose.

Daughter of the late Jose F. and Siria E. Sanchez. Sister of the late Luis E. Sanchez, Jesus E. Sanchez, Vincent E. Sanchez, Carmen Sanchez and Mary E. Angelino. Sister-in-law of the late Albert A. Angelino and Martha Sanchez. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews and friends. A native of Riverside, CA.

Lupe was very active in St. Mary’s Church. Past President and Secretary of the Catholic Ladies Aid Society; Past Secretary of Business and Professional Women’s Club; Past Secretary of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Served on the Gilroy Planning Commission for seven years being Chairperson in 1997; Gilroy Senior Advisory Board; Past Secretary of the Council on Aging; Past Chairperson of Church Women United; Volunteered on various City and County Committees and Commissions. Named to the Gilroy Hall of Fame in 1991.

Vigil Sunday, April 17, 2011 – 5:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral Mass Monday, April 18, 2011 – 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church, Gilroy. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilroy. Family requests donations in Lupe’s name to St. Mary’s Church.
