San Juan Bautista – A magnitude 3.1 earthquake rumbled the Mission City on Monday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The epicenter of the quake – which occurred at 11:42am Monday – was about three miles southwest of San Juan Bautista, according to the USGS.

San Benito County sheriff’s Lt. Roy Iler said the office received no reports of damage. There was a magnitude 4.3 earthquake – categorized as light – on July 2 with an epicenter five miles west of San Juan Bautista, according to the USGS. In January, there was also a magnitude 3.1 quake in San Benito County, with an epicenter between Hollister and San Juan Bautista, the USGS reported.
