Well, why not?
Allow me to say why not.
For decade after decade, the red man paid his fair share and a hell of a lot more. He paid it with stolen lands; lands rich in natural resources where his people had lived and hunted in the time of Christ.
He paid his fair share in forbearance as he watched the government he had signed treaties with break those treaties almost before the ink was dry.
He paid his fair share with his anger and heart-wrenching disbelief at the European invaders who killed off the great herds of buffalo, which had sustained him and his people. Millions ruthlessly slaughtered and often for no other reason than it was good sport to do so. What took millenniums to become a reality was erased by men with guns in the span of a few short years.
The red man continued to pay his fair share. He forsaked war and evolved into something less than even a second-class citizen. His race was banished to federal reservations – places where more likely than not, a goat would have a problem living there – and there he was left, simply ignored, to live in poverty.
You go right ahead, Arnold. Stick it to ’em, pal. The red man has had it too easy for too long. You make ’em pay their fair share.
