Dear Editor:

I do not believe there is any other service in this county that is as small yet gives as much service as the University of California Cooperative Extensions. I remember advising someone in another county to go to their Cooperative Extension for information and advice. Agriculture is a wide field, so it takes an experienced and knowledgeable person to come up with answers. And I know Bill often has to go to someone else he knows to get the help needed by someone who has come to him with a problem.

This happened to me recently: I called the Extension and asked Bill how to eliminate an arsenic-in-water problem, and he told me he knew someone else at some other place that should be acquainted with this arsenic in water problem.

“Call back in a couple days,” he said.

Many San Benito County citizens rely on the Cooperative Extension for advice and service. It must not eliminated in our efforts to economize. We would have little chance of restoring it once we make it through this financial crisis.

Make yourself felt on this.
