Mamie J. Pape passed away at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital on
Tuesday April 26 from a brief illness at the age of 97.
 
Mamie J. Pape passed away at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital on Tuesday April 26 from a brief illness at the age of 97.  Mamie was a native of Isleton and had attended Isleton and Lodi schools as a young person. In 1997 Mamie moved to San Benito County to be closer to her family. She was a life-long member of the IDES, a member of Sacred Heart Church and she belonged to the Sciots of Oakland. Two of her favorite activities were cooking and going dancing. “She made great apple pies,” her family said. Mamie was a homemaker all of her adult life.

She is survived by her son and his spouse William and Isabelle Carreiro of Hollister; her grandson James Carreiro and his spouse Julie of Hollister; great-grandchildren James Carreiro Jr. and Mark Carreiro both of Hollister; nephew Charles Dahlgren of King City and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson Randall Carreiro; great-grandson Tony Carreiro; and sister Adeline Dahlgren.

Visitation will be held today at the chapel of the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home 870 San Benito St. from 1pm until 8 pm.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Friday morning at 10am at the mortuary chapel which will be followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.

Donations are preferred to Mabie Skilled Nursing Northside or to the donors favorite charity c/o mortuary chapel.
