At about 10:40 a.m. Monday, Hollister police officers arrested Raul Barajas,. 52, from Hollister, on suspicion of driving under the influence in the police department parking lot.
At about 10:30 am, Barajas went to the police department to make a suspicious circumstances report. Officer Wells was dispatched and contacted Barajas. Officer Wells immediately observed symptoms consistent with a person being under the influence of a controlled substance. A field examination was completed and Barajas was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
Barajas was booked into the county jail on recommended charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and driving on a suspended license.
