Margaret (Peggy) Ann Ford, 75, of Nipomo, California passed away March 2, 2010. Peggy was born June 20, 1934 in San Jose, California, as the second of four children to John Gilbert Winn and Aurelie De La Prairie. She graduated from Hollister High in 1952 and moved to San Francisco where she met Richard Ford in 1954. They were married on October 8, 1955 in Hollister and moved to Fresno to begin Richard’s career in law and raise their family. After Richard retired from the Eastern District Federal Court as a United States Bankruptcy Judge, Richard and Peggy moved to Nipomo to enjoy their retirement and cooler weather.

Peggy was devoted to her husband and to her family. She spent more than fifty-five years with her best friend, lover and helper in all things, her husband Richard. Peggy always said she was the lucky one.

Peggy loved traveling and meeting new people. Peggy and Richard enjoyed traveling overseas and throughout the United States including numerous trips to their favorite destination of Hawaii. She also enjoyed reading, computers, attending Mass and volunteer activities with St. Joseph’s Church, Martha’s Ministries and Meals On Wheels. She was involved with many social activities including book clubs, Fresno dinner group, Nipomo Newcomers dinner group, Orchid Society and card clubs.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. She always remembered the birthdays and important moments in the lives of others by faithfully recognizing special dates with cards, calling or emails. She made everyone in her life feel special. She was always there to support anyone that she sensed was in need.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard T. Ford, Nipomo; son J.T. Ford (Lori) of Fresno; daughter Theresa Jory (Andy Hebert) of Fresno; son John Ford (Abby) of Alameda; daughter Judy Stumpf (Erich) of Fresno; brothers Pat Winn and Mike Winn of Hollister; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death in 2004 by her beloved brother, John Winn, of Hollister.

Her loving and caring spirit will be missed by many. Richard and his children would like to acknowledge the many dear family and friends of Peggy for granting her a blessed 75 years full of love, care and serenity.
