Margaret W. Barrett, a native of San Jose, passed away in Monterey on August 24, 2010. Born December 26, 1922, she lived in Morgan Hill for most of her life. Margaret received her California teaching credential and retired after 25 years as a third-grade teacher.

She enjoyed traveling and playing Bridge but her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her children, James Barrett of Cottage Grove, OR, Roger (Diane) Barrett of Fremont and Sue Cukrov of San Jose; her sister, Elizabeth (Mack) O’Donnel of Redding and her grandchildren, Mira and Vladimir Cukrov and Sam and Sarah Barrett and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alden; her infant daughter, Megan; her parents, James and Margaret Walker and her sister, Carolyn Walker.

Private burial will take place at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno. A Memorial Service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill on Thursday, September 9, 2010, at 2:00 P.M.
