Eclarin, age 74, passed away suddenly at her residence in
Hollister on monday June 20th.
Margarita P. “Margie” Eclarin, age 74, passed away suddenly at her residence in Hollister on monday June 20th.
A native of Texas and a former resident of Arizona where she received her education, Mrs. Eclarin came to San Benito County at the age of 17. Her working career spanned 27 years as an operator at Gentry’s in Gilroy. Margie was a member of the Teamsters Local 890 of Salinas, the Filipino American Community of San Benito County and a member of Sacred Heart Church. She looked forward to family gatherings, preparing her favorite recipes for family and friends, and traveling to the casinos at Reno and Lake Tahoe, according to her children.
Mrs. Eclarin was the spouse of the late George A. Eclarin who passed away in July, 1990.
She is survived by her children and their spouses Mary Oteri, husband Jim, of Gilroy; Linda Martinez, husband Manuel, of Soquel; George P. Eclarin, wife Lupe, of Hollister; Augie Eclarin, wife Leslie, of Hollister; Ernie Eclarin, wife Shelly, of Hollister; and John Eclarin, wife Dana, of Hollister. She was the mother of the late Susan and Juanita Eclarin.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Paul Diaz (Rita), Gina Rangel (Alex), Frank Eclarin, Nicole Sammut, Elias, Justin, Andrew, Megan and Trevor Eclarin all of Hollister; Mackenzie Martinez of Soquel; George III, Marc, and Javier Eclarin of Las Vegas; Augie Eclarin Jr. (Kathy) of San Diego; Greg Eclarin of N. Carolina; and Elisa Jackson (Derek) of Maryland.
And 13 great grandchildren; sisters Lily Gomez of Mississippi and Josefina Medina of San Jose; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday morning beginning at 10 A.M. at the chapel of the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home 870 San Benito St., Hollister. The recitation of the rosary is Friday evening at 7 P.M.
Family and friends will leave the mortuary Saturday morning at 11:30 A.M. to attend a Mass of The Resurrection at Sacred Heart Church beginning at 12 noon.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Donations are preferred to Cerebral Palsy Foundation c/o the mortuary chapel.
