Maria Castillo died Saturday, Jan. 17 in Tijuana, Mexico. She was 76.

She was born in Jalisco, Mexico.

She is survived by her mother, Brijida Zepeda of Hollister; her children and their spouses Nicolas Curiel of Guadalajara, Aurelio and Maria Curiel of Hollister, Francisco Curiel of Hollister, Marta and Ricardo Juarez of Hollister, and Teresa Curiel of Guadalajara; brothers and sisters Alfonso Castillo of Hollister, Jose Manuel Castillo of HOllister, Frenando Gonzalez of Guadalajara, Ramon Gonzalez of Mexico, Gonzalo Gonzalez of Componstela, Mexico, Maria Irene Gonzalez of Hollister and Jose Antonio Gonzalez of Hollister. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and her nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aurelio Curiel, who died in 1957, and brothers Emilio and Jesus Gonzalez.

The rosary will be Friday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Friends can gather at Black Cooper Sander Funeral home at 9:30 a.m. for a procession to the church.

Interment and graveside services will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.

Friends can pay their respects at the funeral home chapel Friday, Jan. 23 from noon to 3 p.m. and then again at Sacred Heart Church after 6 p.m.
