Born in Gilroy to the late Hilario and Marcelina Martin, Marian would have been 86 years old on April 12. Raised in Hollister, Marian “Charlie” worked about nine years in the Hollister Cannery. He then relocated to Santa Monica where he was employed at Armacost & Roystone Company, specializing in the care of cypripediums (lady slipper orchids). Upon retirement, he moved to Jalisco, Mexico where he resided with his wife and loved working in his garden and visiting with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, MaJesus Martin, and his brother and sisters and their spouses Carmen Lomanto, Dolly Postigo, Larry Martin and Manuel Martin, all of Hollister.

He was brother to the late Frank M. Martin, Sam Martin and Bernice Saldana. “Uncle Marian” is survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

He was buried after receiving the Sacrament of the sick in Guachinango, Jalisco, Mexico.

There will be a memorial mass held at 7 p.m., April 16 in the Sacred Heart Church.
