On Oct. 17, my darling wife of 50 years fell asleep in death due to her failing heart.

Julie Boyer was born in San Francisco, CA on Dec. 20, 1940, to her proud parents, Marion and Tony DeCanti. Her mother was a Native American, born and raised on the Hoopa Reservation in Northern California. Her father was born in Italy and came to America as a young boy with his family.

Julie is deeply missed by her son David, his wife Elva, her daughter Danika, as well as our grandchildren Jenee, Michael, Kaitlyn and little Nickels, as we like to call him.

Julie and I lived in the same house in Morgan Hill for over 35 years; this town was her home. For 30 years she worked for the M.H.U.S.D. and as everyone who worked with her knew, she truly loved her job.

I first met my wife in 1957 on Mission St. in San Francisco as she and her girl friends passed by the Grand Theater, where I worked as an usher. I tried to get their attention with the usual “Hey Baby,” but they just giggled and kept walking. My best friend at the time said I know them, they go to Balboa High with me. They had gone just a few doors down from the theater to the best pizza joint in the City. We locked the box office and followed soon after. There in Toto’s, sitting across from me were the biggest most beautiful brown eyes I had ever seen, and her smile lit up the room. Once I heard her voice and she shined her radiant personality my way, I was lost in love. Our love for each other was as powerful and deep as anything ever written or portrayed on the silver screen. Her smile and her bright eyes never faded, not for me, not for her family, nor for her dear friends. For all those that knew and loved her as deeply as I did, she didn’t suffer and entered into Jehovah’s care quickly. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 5:00 P.M. at Johnson Funeral Home, Morgan Hill.
