Marilyn E. Montoya died Thursday, Nov. 13 at her Hollister home. She was 51.

She was born in Lovelock, Nev., and came to Hollister in 1971 from San Jose. In 1971, she married her husband, Sam Montoya, in Sparks, Nev. She was a member of Sunnyslope Christian Center.

She is survived by her husband, Sam Montoya of Hollister; daughters Andrea (Adam) Avila, and Melissa Montoya, all of Hollister; parents William Hernandez of Clear Lake and Lorene Hernandez of San Jose; brothers and sisters Billy “Harley” Hernandez of Clear Lake, Victor Hernandez of San Jose, Vicki Booke of San Jose, and Valerie Hernandez of San Jose; grandchildren Alyssa Mariah and Aliyah Avila, both of Hollister; father-in-law Victor Montoya of Hollister; brother-in-law Bill Leighty of Hollister; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Mary-Lou Montoya of Hollister; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. at Sunnyslope Christian Center in Hollister.

Interment and graveside services will follow the funeral at the IOOF Cemetery.

Donations may be made to Central Coast Visiting Nurses Association.

Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
