Marilyn Saxe, a resident of Morgan Hill for 39 years, passed away at home on February 16, 2011, following a struggle over many years with Alzheimer’s and cancer.

Marilyn graduated from Willow Glen High School in 1959, and from Berkeley in 1963. She was one of the original members of the City of Morgan Hill Health Commission whose task was to explore alternatives for improving the availability of health care services in Morgan Hill.

Marilyn taught at the Sanborn Elementary School in the Alisal School District in Salinas until failing health forced her retirement.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 42 years, Bob Saxe; her children, Bonnie Conley, Monica Hodge and Ben Saxe; sons-in-law, Joe Conley and Hunter Hodge; five grandchildren, Ciera Conley, Shelby Conley, Chase Conley, Abby Hodge and Charlie Hodge; and by her sisters, Molly Pilgeram, Lois Winters and her brother, Paul McClintock.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 22,2011, from 5:00-8:30 P.M., with Vigil Service to commence at 7:00 P.M., both at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill, CA.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at 12:00 noon at St. Catherine Parish, 17400 Peak Avenue in Morgan Hill. Interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
