Marino “Reno” Salvetta died on April 3, 2007 in Palo Alto, CA. He was born January 12, 1934 in Lorain, Ohio and lived in Salinas, CA for 25 years and in Hollister, CA for 12 years. He was employed many years as an accountant in the produce business and was a past member of Kiwanis and The Elks Lodge and attended the First Presbyterian Church. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, golfing, cooking and doing artwork and playing the guitar. He was also an avid Giants and A’s fan. He and his wife, Vaughnie, were married in 1974 in Carson City, NV.

He served his country honorably in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Vaughnie Salvetta of Hollister, his children: Carolyn Salvetta Stringer of Vermillion, OH, Lewis Salvetta of Sheboygan, WI, Vicki Salvetta of Lorain, OH and Shaun Salvetta of Morgan Hill, CA; his brothers: Richard Salvetta of Santa Ana , CA and Michael Salvetta of Hollywood, CA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Alanna Pere of Morgan Hill and Stephanie Beach of Vermillion, OH and other grandchildren.

Friends can pay their respects on Tues., Apr. 10, 2007 from 12:00 noon until 8:00 P.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home in Hollister.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at The First Presbyterian Church in Hollister. Interment and military rites will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA.
