Marjorie E. Chesnut passed away in Hollister. She was born in Beaver City, Nebraska and came to Hollister from Richmond, CA in 1944. She was married to her husband, Erwin “Chet” Chesnut in 1940 in Carson City, NV. He preceded her in death in 1989. She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church, Order of Eastern Star, Fidelity Rebekah Lodge and was active in the local senior citizens program where she taught crafts. She enjoyed oil painting in her free time.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Bill and Kathy Chesnut of Hollister, Ken and Jacque Chesnut of Gilroy and Nancy and Bob Martin of Paso Robles, her grandchildren, Kim Perry, Krista Hanson, Kevin Castro, Chelsea Martin, Karen Eichler and Annette Bevers, her sister-in-law, Babe Chesnut of Hollister and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Chris Chesnut, in 2006.
Memorial services will be held on Friday,May 11, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at The First Presbyterian Church in Hollister. A reception will follow the services at the home of Bill and Kathy Chesnut, 1311 Bonnie View Rd., Hollister.
