Long-time Morgan Hill rancher
Long-time Morgan Hill rancher Marshall (Marcello) Bert Bernal died on his 100th birthday, Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003.
Mr. Bernal was born at Rancho Canada de Pala – now Grant Ranch County Park – in Hall’s Valley, Calif. His family moved to San Jose shortly thereafter.
He was a retired rancher and lived for more than 50 years in Morgan Hill. He had also worked for the Pacific Manufacturing Company in Santa Clara for about 30 yeares and for 10 years for Stokley Van Camp in Santa Clara.
He is survived by his wife of more than 66 years, Mary; his sons, Micheal and Mark and their wives Brenda and Nancy; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held “when the ground is dry and the sun is warm.”
