Elizabeth was born on August 23, 1912, to Julia and Simeon Lane in Atwood, CA. She died September 26, 2013 in Hollister, CA.
Elizabeth went to Colorado State Teachers College and taught school in Crook, CO for several years. She married Claude Wells in 1935 and they moved to California to continue their education.
For 30 years they lived in Tehachapi where Elizabeth taught 2nd grade for 20 of those years. In 1969, they retired and moved to Bakersfield where they traveled extensively and were charter members of the Kern City Duplicate Bridge Club and Sundale Golf Club. Elizabeth was a longtime faithful member of the Congregational Church.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by husband Claude Wells and brothers Irvin, Ralph and Archie Lane. She is survived by sister Mary Spanjer of Ft. Collins, CO, daughters Barbara Huse (Paul) of Hollister and Margo Wells of Palm Desert, grandchildren Sharon Muehlbacher (Ed) of Rancho Cucamonga and Don Huse of San Jose, great-grandchildren Cameron and Austin Muehlbacher and Jessica and Trent Huse.
