Long-time Gilroy resident Mary E. Angelino died Monday, May 26, 2003 in San Jose. She was 86.
Mrs. Angelino was born in Riverside and moved to Gilroy from Santa Ana 67 years ago. She owned and operated Mary’s Beauty Shop in Gilroy for more than 40 years, retiring in 1994 because of health problems. She was a member of the Catholic Ladies Aid Society and St. Mary Parish. She loved to travel and dance.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Albert A. Angelino of Gilroy; her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Ann and William Place of Hollister; her son, John Angelino Sr. of Gilroy; her sisters, Lupe Sanchez and Carmen Sanches of Gilroy; her brother, Vincent Sanchez; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A vigil service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at St. Mary Church in Gilroy. Family and friends will gather at Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy Friday at 9:30 a.m., proceeding to St. Mary Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.
