Long-time Hollister resident
Long-time Hollister resident Mary J. Nasaire died Thursday, April 10, 2003 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in Salinas after a lengthy illness. She was 59.
Mrs. Nasaire was born in Watsonville and had lived in Hollister since birth. She graduated from San Benito High School and worked as a claims clerk for the California State Automobile Association for 10 years before her illness, in addition to being a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Fil-Visayan Association and was an avid bingo player.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Mandie Jr. and Melanie Nasaire of Hollister, Rodney and Genoveva Nasaire and Merlina and Adam Zamarron, all of Los Banos, and John Nasaire of Gilroy; her father, John Millares of Hollister; her sister, Joan Rodriguez of Merced; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mandie R. Nasaire Sr. in May 2000; and a grandson.
Visitation will be Sunday after 10 a.m. at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will begin Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to Sacred Heart Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial and graveside services will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
