Mary Jo Appel, age 82, beloved wife of John W. Appel, Esq., died peacefully at her ranch in Paicines, CA on January 7th, 2011.

Born March 29, 1928, in Topeka, KS, Mary Jo graduated from UC Berkeley in 1949 and worked for a San Jose law firm until her retirement in 1988. Mary Jo was an active golfer, fisherman, hunter, horseback rider and UC Berkeley athletic fan.

Survivors include her husband of over 50 years, John W. Appel; sister, Pat Fraser; niece, Sue Foster and step-daughter, Patti Appel.

Mary Jo will be remembered by all who knew her for her wonderful zest for life, love of animals, kindness, honesty and humor. To beat her in any kind of a wager was next to impossible.

As per her wishes arrangements have been made for cremation and private inurnment.
