Mary Louise Gonzales, born Oct. 27, 1919 in Hayden, AZ, passed away Feb. 7, 2007 in Gilroy.

Mary worked for Tims Aircraft and Lockheed Aircraft in Van Nuys during WWII; moved to Gilroy in 1946, and worked for 34 years at Filice and Perrelli, which later became California Canners and Growers.

She was preceded in death by her parents Luis Sanchez and Palmira and Lorenzo Romero; brothers Raul Sanchez and Rudy Romero, and sister Artemisa Macias.

She was the loving mother of Mario M. Gonzales; sister of Beatrice Figueroa, Odelia Ojeda, and Raymond Sanchez; aunt of Louis and Rose Perez, Ruben and Judy Villareal, Ben Perez, and Cecelia Perez; daughter- in-law, Lolly Gonzales; grandmother of Michael Gonzales, Isabel Suarez, Joe Granados, Jessica Suarez, and Jessie Suarez; niece of Mary Altamirano; cousin to Carlos Altamirano and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, in California and Arizona.

Mary enjoyed crocheting, gardening, singing, dancing and watching old westerns, but most of all, loved being with family and friends.

Vigil Monday, February 12, 2007 – 7:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M., then to St. Mary’s Church for Mass at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilroy.
