Long-time Hollister resident
Long-time resident Mary Louise Legge died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002 at St. Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy. She was 79.

Mrs. Legge was born in San Jose and had lived in San Benito County since 1963. She attended Notre Dame High School in San Jose and Heald Business College. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Italian Catholic Federation of San Benito County, and a former member of YLI.

She and her husband took many cruises, including to Mexico, the Caribbean, Alaska, Panama, Europe and both coasts of the U.S. She also enjoyed going to Reno and Laughlin, Nev., spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and working in her garden.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Legge of Hollister, a long-time member of the Elks Lodge; her daughter and son-in-law, Loreen and Norman Dow of Gilroy; two grandchildren, a niece and many cousins.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Grunnagle-Ament-Neldon Funeral home, and from 6:15 p.m. until Mass at Sacred Heart Church. Friends are invited to a Mass of Resurrection Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the church. Private interment will be held Wednesday at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery in Santa Clara.
