Long-time Hollister resident
Long-time Hollister resident Mary Morris died Sunday, March 2, 2003 at her home. She was 91.

Mrs. Morris was born in Visalia, the first of 11 children. She lived in Lemoore for many years before moving to Hollister in 1949, where she and her late husband owned and operated a walnut orchard. She was a member of The Catholic Daughters, UPPEC, SPRSI and IDES Portuguese lodges

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Genevieve and Roscoe Stevens of Hollister; her grandchildren, Pat Stevens and Morris Stevens, both of Hollister, and Geralyn Moore of Yuba City; her sisters, Elaine Council of Pleasant Hill, Lillian Rocha of Lemoore and Laura Bettencourt of Hanford; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anibal Morris; her son, Alexander Morris; and her grandson, Alexander Stevens.

Friends may pay their respects Wednesday from noon until 8 p.m. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will begin Thursday at 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home where a procession will depart for Immaculate Conception Church in Tres Pinos at 9:30 a.m. Interment and graveside services will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to the Sacred Heart Schools Foundation, in care of Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home, 363 Seventh St., Hollister, CA 95023.
