Mary R. Aguinaga died suddenly March 14, 2004 at her home. She was 82.
Mary was born in Calexico, Calif. and came to San Benito County in 1989. She graduated with a B.A. from San Diego State College, where she received her teaching credential. She taught primary education in Calexico schools. When she retired from teaching, she moved to Northern California to be with her family.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church.
“Everyone in the family looked forward to her meals,” said her nephew. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes.
Mary is survived by her sister-in-law Lucy Aguinaga of Salinas and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 21 from noon to 8 p.m. at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. The recitation of the rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, to which friends are invited.
Family and friends will leave the mortuary chapel March 22 at 9:30 a.m. to go to Sacred Heart Church for a Mass at 10 a.m.
Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Salinas.
