Maxine Nisbet died Saturday, Jan. 10 at the Mabie Skilled Nursing Center in Hollister. She was 88.

She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, and came to Hollister in 1984 after living in San Jose for 20 years.

She was a member of the Ridgemark Golf and Country Club, and was a homemaker and housewife for 60 years this coming February.

She is survived by her husband Mac Nisbet of Hollister; son Carl W. Nisbet and his wife Mary of Sonora; daughter Jenifer Lee Kelley and her husband Tim of Brentwood; daughter Narda Salvador and her husband Joe of San Jose; granddaughters Margaret Rivas of Gilroy, Carleen Pilcher of Germany, Tracey Papke of Riverside and Wendy Salvador of Campbell; grandsons Shawn Kelley of Martinez and Joe Salvador of Santa Cruz. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be offered Thursday, Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park, located at 300 Curtner Ave. in San Jose.

Funeral arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home and Crematory in Hollister.

Contributions are preferred to one’s favorite charity.
