Many landowners and business people and even realtors whom I know have remained quiet on Measure G, the voter controlled growth issue.
In contrast, in recent ads I have noticed the names of other businesses and landowners who have development interests and/or want the potential to fragment and split their land opposing Measure G.
Short-term interest may seem to benefit them, but does the county and our community benefit?
Land paved over is hard to restore. We have the opportunity to vote March 2 to share control of the growth pattern of our unincorporated area and shape the future of San Benito County.
Growth will occur, but with the passage of Measure G, voters will have the ability to influence the speed and direction of such growth. I urge all voters in San Benito County to consider YES on G for slower growth.
