A family memorial service for Midge was held on March 31, 2014 at Alta Mesa Cemetery in Palo Alto where she is interred.
She died in her sleep after a long battle with COPD.
Midge was born in Long Beach, CA, and grew up in Palo Alto. She graduated from Paly in 1953, and received her bachelor’s degree from San Jose State in 1957.
She lovingly taught kindergarten in Palo Alto at Crescent Park and in Los Altos for many years, and is fondly remembered by her many students.
She married her high school sweetheart, Bob, who was by her side until she died.
Midge’s passion was her family, whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 57 years, Robert (Bob) Santos; their four children, Laurie Ann Santos of Gilroy, Rob Santos of Livermore, Michael Santos of San Francisco, and Steven Santos of Eureka. She was very proud of her grandchildren Jennifer (Howard) Lemaire of Penn Valley, Robert John Santos of Missouri, Sarah (Santos) Sick of TX, Kathleen, Christopher and Juliana Santos, all of Livermore, and Katie Santos Weber of Gilroy. Midge loved her two greatgrandsons, Stetson and Fox Lemaire. Midge is also remembered by her surviving sisters Carolyn, Kathy and Cookie.
To our dear Mom, we hope you found the biggest library in heaven, so you can continue to enjoy your great love of reading. Love, your kids.
