San Benito County Sheriff’s Office deputies made two more arrests in connection with the gang-related shooting of an El Cerro Drive home earlier this month.

A 24-year-old Hollister man and a 21-year-old Hollister man were arrested Monday and Tuesday, respectively, both on charges of attempted murder, criminal conspiracy and shooting at an inhabited dwelling, all felonies, Lt. Roy Iler said.

“He actually showed up for court and was arrested at court on fresh charges,” Iler said of the 24-year-old man.

The 21-year-old man was arrested at his workplace Tuesday afternoon, Iler said.

Both men are being held at the San Benito County Jail on $1,250,000 bail, according to jail records.

On Feb. 14, the sheriff’s office reported four or five people targeted a home in the 800 block of El Cerro Drive with gunfire, four of those shots hitting the residence. About seven people were home at the time of the shooting, and no one was injured, the office reported.

Deputies arrested a first suspect – a 21-year-old Hollister man – in the shooting on Friday morning. That man is being held on charges of attempted murder and shooting at an inhabited dwelling, both felonies, with a gang enhancement, in lieu of $750,000 bail, according to jail personnel.

Iler said the office considers the case closed.

Detective Sgt. Tom Keylon said victims and witnesses picked all three suspects out of a photo lineup.

Investigators are working on proving gang enhancements for the two recently arrested suspects, Keylon said.

“They’re all tied into the Norteño gang,” Keylon said, adding, “They’re definitely deeply involved.”

Deputies are investigating a motive behind the shooting, Keylon said. Investigators do not believe residents of the targeted home are gang members.
