Santa Rosa resident Nathaniel H. Mortara died Monday, Oct. 27 at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. He was 92.

He was born Sept. 22, 1911 in San Mateo, Calif. He attended Salinas High School in Salinas, Calif., and Ontario High School.

He was a former member of Sacred Heart Church in Salinas as well as went through the Chairs in the Druids.

He ranched on Sunnyslope Road in Hollister many years ago, retiring and selling his property to the Pagano Family. At that time, he moved to Riverside, Calif., and entered the deli and beverage business. Retiring from that, he moved back to Hollister in 1988 and lived at Ridgemark Golf and Country Club.

He is survived by his son Richard R. Mortara, daughter-in-law Rita Mortara, cousin John Mondo and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rose A. Mortara and cousin Frank Mondo.

Private family services will be held today at Bellevue Memorial Park Mausoleum in Ontario, Calif., under the direction of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home.
