Our loving Mother, Nellie Garcia, AKA “Negra”, was born in Watsonville, CA on May 27, 1925. She is predeceased by her brother, Ralph Alvarez, survived by her brother, Ignacio Alvarez of San Mateo, her son, Benny Garcia and spouse Dolores Garcia, of Hollister, her daughter Irene Llamas of Hollister, and daughter Carmen Garcia Gonzalez of Watsonville. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 28 great- grandchildren.
After a long illness, our Mother is now laid to rest with her husband, Pete D. Garcia. Our Mother enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to her Spanish music, dancing, going to softball games with her grandchildren and cooking. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Visitation will be Monday, May 14th, from 12 Noon until 8:00 P.M., with the Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 P.M. at the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St., Hollister. Family and friends will leave the mortuary Tuesday morning at 9:30 A.M. for a Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 5th & College Streets,
Hollister, beginning at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilroy.
