Individuals and organizations are invited to participate in the 15th annual San Juan Bautista Spring/Easter Parade Sunday, April 13.

Sponsored by the San Juan Chamber of Commerce, the theme for this year’s parade will be “New Beginnings.”

The parade will assemble at San Juan School beginning at 10 a.m. Award entrants must be at the school by 10:30 a.m. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. along Third Street to Abbey Park, where an Easter egg hunt will be held for children under 10 who participate in the parade. Parade participants may range from toddlers to seniors. All main business streets will remain accessible to wheelchairs. Baskets or bags are not permitted.

To be judged in one of the award categories, entrants must complete an application and return it to the chamber of commerce by April 7.

Awards will be given for first, second and third places in the following categories: Best single entry, best group presentation, best decorated float/car, and best costume (ages 8 and under and 8 and over). All participants in the parade will receive a ribbon.

Over the past 10 years the parade has grown to include participants from Monterey, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties as well as San Benito County.

For more information or an application, call Terry Marburger at the San Juan Bautista Chamber of Commerce, 623-2454.
