Free discount card saves local consumers money

Coast2Coast Rx announced that residents of San Benito County saved more than $242,000 in 2011 on prescription drug costs by using the program's free prescription discount card - and a total of more than $422,000 since it was approved by the County Board of Supervisors in August 2009.

Locals win gift baskets from Shop Hop

Local businesses and artistans hosted a Shop Hop Dec. 3, in hopes of promoting shopping within the San Benito Community. As part of the promotion, which included nearly 50 businesses or artisans from Hollister and San Juan Bautista, the local businesses had such an enthusiastic showing during the event that they have planned to have the “buy local” day twice a year.
