Hollister farmers market starts next week
The Downtown Hollister Farmers Market will open for the season on May 2, from 3 to 7 p.m., on Fifth Street. The market will be open Wednesdays through Sept. 26. Residents can again expect to find many vendors selling locally grown produce as well as a mix of other items.

Bill’s Bullpen, 207 Fourth St., in Hollister, will participate in Free Comic Book Day May 5. Bill’s Bullpen is one of thousands of comic book shops around the world that will be giving away free comic books. The stores will give away a grand total of two million comic books. 9 Lives Club holds ribbon cutting
9 Lives Club and the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting April 12 at the club’s location at 7430 Monterey St. in Gilroy. There are weekly comedy and music shows from some of the area’s top performers. The 4,500 square foot venue can accommodate 300 guests. Their goal is to make anyone that walks through the doors feel the positive energy and great vibe in the room. Enjoy pizza, hot dogs, soft drinks and beer while watching the shows.
