A project to re-pave a nearly two-mile portion of a frontage along San Felipe Road in Hollister should be done by the start of December, a city engineer confirmed.

Obesity rate drops, but San Benito still 10th worst in state

The number of San Benito County children classified as overweight or obese declined by 5.6 percent from 2005 to 2010, according to a report released by the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research last week. The study, put out by the organization with support from the California Center for Public Health Advocacy, looks at children in the fifth, seventh and ninth grades across the state.

The San Benito County Board of Supervisors received a presentation Tuesday on a 10-year plan to end homelessness in the San Benito and Monterey county area – the outcome of 14 months of planning and meeting between stakeholder agencies in the region.
