HPD arrests woman in alleged stabbing

On July 25, Hollister Police officers arrested Stephanie Partida, 25, in connection to an alleged stabbing in the 700 block of Busby Court. Police officers were called to the 700 block of Busby Court at about 11:50 p.m. for a report of a loud domestic argument. Upon arrival, officers found a blood trail leading to the front door of the apartment. Officers also observed a large amount of blood on the floor of the residence through a window.

San Juan grass fire contained to 15 acres

A fire occurred just south of Highway 156 on Wednesday afternoon, while crews contained it before the blaze damaged nearby homes.

Councilman refunds part of payment, admits breaking ethics law

Councilman Doug Emerson on Wednesday admitted he violated state ethics rules and amended a filing with the city to reflect that he reimbursed half of $4,650 he reported receiving from a solar company for his July 2011 trip to China.
