Former Hollister resident Norma May Zanella died Friday, Sept. 5, at Sutter Davis Hospital. She was 82.

She was a Yolo County resident for 20 years. She and her late husband had been owners of restaurants in Stockton and Hollister. In 1945, they bought J&B Restaurant. They were the owners of the State Fountain in Woodland from 1958 to 1974 when they retired.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gus Zanella and her grandson Bobby Zanella.

She is survived by sons Charles (Tammy) Zanella of Walnut Creek, Calvin (Ginger) Zanella of Bozeman, Mont., Albert Zanella of San Francisco and Joe Zanella of Brooks; daughter Donna (Larry) Farnham of Brooks; brothers Morris Hockey of Seal Beach, Calif., and Roger Hockey of Los Alamitos, Calif.; sisters Bonnie Panelli of Rancho Marage and June Hartman of Lodi. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
