The man was trapped in his vehicle and required extrication. He was flown to Regional Medical Center in San Jose where he was pronounced dead shortly after noon.

A 38-year-old Watsonville man suffered minor injuries, and his 32-year-old passenger, also from Watsonville, were both taken by ambulance to Saint Louise Regional Hospital. The female passenger complained of neck and back pain. Identifications were not immediately available.

All were wearing seatbelts, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor, according to the release.

The eastbound lane of 152 was closed for a short period and the CHP provided one-way traffic control using the westbound lane.

Anyone with information may call the CHP at 848-2324.
