Ofelia Lespron Esquivel born January 20, 1923, joined our Heavenly Father on June 22, 2010. Gilroy resident since 1964, she was a homemaker, hospital worker and restaurant owner throughout her life.

She was the loving daughter of the late Luz Torres, her doting Pa Pedro, and Ma Lola Lespron. She is preceded in death by her son Eric James, sister Rachel Alcantar and Felicitas Martinez, brothers Armando Martinez, Jesus Lespron, daughter-in-law Yolanda Eaquivel and her grandsons Matthew Miramontes and Eric James Garcia.

She is survived by her children Priscilla, Judy, David, Alice, Tommy, Estella, Daniel, Dolores Esquivel, Lucy (Efren) Martinez, Karen (Robert) Betancourt, Gloria and Sylvia Wyatt, Carol Pontoni, Jackie Howard and Grace Garcia.

Sisters Alice Pena, Esther Duarte, Thamar Pacheco, Isabel Morales and bothers Ezequiel Martinez, Pedro Lespron and Ricardo Flores, 40 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was known to many and filled many roles. She will forever be known lovingly as our mother, mom, mother of mine, Madre, mama, ma, grandma, grams, grammy, great and great-great-grandma, and best friend.

She was a gifted and blessed person of strong spiritual beliefs, an exquisite cook, she was known for her authentic Mexican cooking. She had plenty, raganos (scolds), smiles, never failing advice and words of wisdom. We were blessed that God chose her for us and made us a part of her life. She will be missed.

Funeral services under the direction of Habing Family Funeral Home as follows: Saturday, June 26, 2010. Services 8:30 A.M.-11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at The Gavilan Hills Cemetery, Gilroy, CA
