Ogarita “Gari” Garza died on Nov. 29th in San Jose.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan and was 50 years old. She had lived in Hollister for 27 years and prior to that in San Jose. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Hollister and had worked for 26 years for the Santa Clara County Office of Education. She enjoyed arts and crafts, reading and baking.

She is survived by her brother and sisters, Orlando Garza of Groveland, Belinda Garza de Zambrano of Garza Garcia, Maria Ines Garza de Garcia of Garza Garcia, and Deia Garza de Gonzalez of Monterrey, all of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Vigil, memorial services and Rosary will be on Monday, Dec. 6, at 7pm at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Rev. Rudy Ruiz of Sacred Heart Church will officiate.

Cremation will be followed by interment in Trevino, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Donations are preferred to The American Diabetes Association c/o Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home, 363 7th St. Hollister, CA 95023.

Arrangements and cremation are through Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home and Gavilan Hills Crematory, Hollister.
